RIVER MIST PRESCHOOL CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
River Mist Preschool has successfully provided childcare since 1985. Under Executive Director Jennifer Tew, the school has seen vast improvements over the last ten years, and continues to raise the bar on high quality early care and education. River Mist Preschool will start the process to achieve NAEYC accreditation in 2018. River Mist Preschool is in a great position to expand our facilities to offer excellent service to more of our Durango, Colorado children. We have ample room to build on the four acres of land, plenty of water to service a larger population, and high standards that would benefit more children and their families.
Our goal is to grow from serving 25 children a day to serving 75 children a day. While we have land and water, we do not currently have the capital to build. We have announced a capital campaign to raise the money to expand our facility. As a non-profit, any donation to us is 100% tax deductible. We take our fiscal responsibility seriously, and all the money we receive is spent wisely and frugally. Our goal is to raise $500,000 for construction of classrooms and we are counting on support from the community. Our goal is to build basic, functional classrooms that will allow our total population per day to be 75 children.
